Sometimes it’s the simplest pleasures in life that offer the most joy. That’s why every Wednesday between 12pm and 10.30pm, Surry Hills diner Caffe Bartolowill be dishing up bowls of ragu pasta, fresh-out-of-the-oven focaccia, a carafe of wine (or a glass if you’re flying solo) and a deck of playing cards for $49.
It replicates a tradition from owner Jared Merlino’s household growing up, where he and his family would sit around playing cards every Wednesday night.
Each week the restaurant will feature a different ragu, and once your carafe has been drained you can pick up half-price bottles of wine to carry you into the evening.
